A 4-part mini course to help you make sense of your OCD
...and you have no more clarity now than when you started, this course explains why.
Video: Understanding Your OCD
This mini course gives you the framework to recognize what's actually happening when OCD shows up. You'll learn to identify the reasoning tricks, spot the patterns, and see when you're being pulled into imagination instead of staying grounded in reality. This is the foundation for everything else..
You might be thinking:
“I know it’s OCD, but it still feels like it could be real.”
You’ll learn why OCD thoughts feel so possible and how to spot the moment reasoning shifts.
“I keep trying to logic my way out, but I end up spiraling.”
You’ll understand the reasoning errors that drive OCD and why logic hasn’t helped.
“I feel ashamed that I keep falling for this.”
You’ll see that OCD is a reasoning issue, not a sign of weakness.
“I feel totally alone in how my brain works.”
You’ll see that your experience follows a recognizable pattern shared by so many other people with OCD.
“I don’t know when I’m in OCD vs. just being careful.”
You’ll learn how to identify obsessional reasoning vs. normal reasoning so you can tell the difference.
Fifteen years ago, I thought I knew everything about treating OCD.
I had my PhD from the University of Louisville, had trained at Harvard Medical School/McLean Hospital, and was using exposure and response prevention, the “gold standard” treatment.
But I kept seeing an interesting pattern...
Smart, capable people doing their exposures well, tolerating uncertainty, doing the work… and still getting pulled into thoughts that felt really convincing.
A few years ago, I discovered Inference-Based CBT and everything changed for me, and my clients.
It shifted how I understand OCD, what drives it, and where treatment sometimes needs to begin.
This mini course is the first step in that approach. It’s designed to help you understand exactly why your OCD thoughts feel so real and give you a clear framework for what’s happening in your mind.
I’ve taught this material to dozens of clients in both 1:1 and group settings. Now, I’m excited to share it with you in a self-paced, accessible format so you can begin this work with clear steps and a sold foundation.

My thoughts feel urgent, terrifying, and real.

I’ve read the books, I’ve done the exposures and I’m still stuck.
After...
I can finally see the structure behind my OCD.
I understand the reasoning errors OCD uses to pull me in.
When a thought hits, I know exactly where I am in the cycle. It’s a pattern. And now I can name it.
